The Amon Carter Museum will display "Intimate Modernism: Fort Worth Circle Artists in the 1940s," an exhibit featuring paintings, watercolors, and prints by artists of the Fort Worth School. "Poetry and Writing Theatre Workshop." Living history performer Melissa Waddy Thibodeaux will perform as Harriet Tubman, recounting Tubman's role in the Underground Railroad and highlighting the importance of literacy to African Americans in the late nineteenth century. The exhibit will be on display at the Beloit Municipal Building in Beloit KS, June 12–15, 2008; at the Watkins Community Museum of History in Lawrence KS, June 19–22, 2008; at Candlelight Cabin at Stanton Lake Park in Falls City NE, June 26–29, 2008; and at the Hastings Public Library in Hastings NE, July 3–6, 2008.
