Joseph O. Aimone, assistant professor of English at the University of Houston Downtown, has been nominated for several awards in the areas of humanities, teaching, and scholastic achievement. He is the co-editor of Straight with a Twist: Straight Readings and Queer Theory and the co-translator of Founding Fictions of the Dutch Caribbean: Cola Debrot’s "My Black Sister" and Boeli van Leeuwen's A Stranger on Earth. He has published poems in a number of literary journals.
